Poultry Farm Managers reports to the Farm Director and liaisons with the Administration Office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the farms and its team.
Full time position.
- Availability to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends as required.
- Estimated start date: March 1st 2023.
- Wage: 600k-2,000k FCFA per year depending on experience.
- Onsite housing may be available/negotiated.
- Ensure all aspects of running the poultry farms are met.
- Directs and coordinates worker activities.
- Maintain safe working practices.
- Ensure welfare of poultry – they must have feed, water, heat, light all the time.
- Ventilation management.
- Feed management & vaccinations.
- Collect mortalities daily, perform necropsies, manage carcass disposal.
- Maintain barn sanitization, including manure removal, blowout, disinfecting.
- Prepare barn for chicks – sawdust placement, initial feed placement.
- Recordkeeping.
- Basic maintenance and providing access to repair personnel for two rental houses.
- Liaison with Administration Office as it pertains to expenses, payroll, contracts, employees.
- Constantly seek new and better ways of production and expansion.
- 2-5 years of experience in poultry/broiler growing.
- Effective people management skills.
- Ability to carry out manual duties including lifting approximately 50kg bags.
- Ability to read & write in English.
- Must have an open mind and willingness to learn.
- Must be able to work in a hot environment, up to 35º C for 2 hours at a time.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
- Computer skills an asset but not a necessity.
- Experience in Agriculture/Science an asset.
