- Carry out all tasks relating to the operation and maintenance of radio, cable and optical fibre network equipment install lines and cables nationwide.
- Provide installation and repair services to businesses and individuals using the latest technologies
- maintain optical fibre and microwave (OF/MW) transmission links;
- Maintain BTSS and Enodes;
- Conduct first-level maintenance of power supply units;
- Implement transmission nodes and links;
- Operate the transmission network;
- produce statistics;
- report regularly on activities carried out and results obtained.
The incumbent should:
- Be able to communicate effectively and interact courteously with customers in the field;
- Be able to act as an ambassador for CAMTEL, representing the company and ensuring that our customers' expectations are met;
- Be able to install and repair services on CAMTEL's transmission networks;
- Be able to solve technical problems relating to points of presence (POPs) using the knowledge, tools and equipment provided to support the maintenance and operation
- of transmission infrastructure such as optical fibre (OF);
- Be able to migrate ADSL services over to copper, microwave (MW), mobile radio, and VSAT;
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team, while also demonstrating an ability to
- work independently;
- Be able to promote CAMTEL's products and services to our customers;
- Be able to comply with existing policies on health, safety, confidentiality, and data privacy;
- Be able to work in remote locations for long periods;
- Be able to manage a physically demanding workload, including lifting heavy objects, climbing and working at heights (on poles or ladders), and transporting heavy equipment;
- Be ready to work in confined spaces, such as manholes, and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions;
- Be ready to obtain different levels of safety certification to meet customers' business requirements;
- Be prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays;
- Have a driver's licence valid in Cameroon and be prepared to travel throughout the region using all existing means of transport;
- Have experience in and knowledge of the use of test equipment and testing principles; have knowledge of transmission on all media;
- Be able to use office automation tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Have an adequate command of French or English, which is required.
