Missions / Responsabilités / Activités
JOB CONTEXT & OBJECTIVE
In line with its Strategic Focus which is to provide end-to-end regional solutions to individuals and local businesses in an efficient and scalable manner and in the process, deliver optimal shareholder value.
Ecobank Cameroon has designed a Fintech Strategy which aim is to play a critical role and become the best bank for Fintechs in Cameroon and the CEMAC sub region.
This will be executed through the implementation of a Unique Value Proposition for Fintechs that will be focused on the three (3) key pillars below:
  • Partnership programs with Fintechs to attract viable and suitable partners by solving their specific challenges.
  • Development of customized new products and services working with and for Fintech.
  • Investing in innovation and scaling up the partnership programs.
In this context, a dedicated Head of Fintech is being recruited with the responsibility of developing, streamlining, and executing the Fintech Strategy.
The Role of the Head, Fintechs will thus be to drive the implementation of the bank’s Fintech strategy and to lead the bank’s fintech initiatives. As such, the role will aim to:
Offer FINTECHS an end-to-end partnership in which they can gain access to not only financial services, but also financial education, information on products/services, networks, and recognition. We intend to deepen our engagement with Fintech business owners and provide them with consumer and commercial banking solutions to cater to their individual and business needs.
Identify, develop, and retain key customer relationships within Fintech segment for optimal financial performance. Own the responsibility for the output of the business. Create awareness and drive uptake of the bespoke targeted bundle in the Fintech business segment across the wider client base.
Execute programs tailored towards the Fintech industry in a way that ensures banking is more flexible and friendly by encouraging digital adoption and other non-financial services
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Business and Financial Performance
  • Execute the effective implementation of the Fintech strategy.
  • Implement the existing fintech strategy for the bank and propose comprehensive amendment of the strategy mindful of the changes occurring in the ecosystem. 
  • Drive the design thinking and fintech culture change that is needed in collaboration with the internal stakeholders, both locally and at the group level.
  • Utilize the customer segmentation to drive growth and sustainability of financials and revenues.
  • Identify and initiate business development activities to achieve the set targets.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships across units to support the delivery of the Unit’s goals.
  • Ensure that Management report is timely and qualitatively prepared. 
Client Centricity
  •  Be the contact point for Fintechs within Africa and assist in scaling-up their businesses.
  • Drive partnering to build scale in terms of customer acquisition, product utilization/transaction volumes and deposit mobilization.
  • Identify and leverage emerging fintech trends and technologies to improve banking operations and customer experience.
  • Propose and drive a co-creation process with the best in class, in areas of priority for the bank.
  • Propose a Fintech onboarding framework and clear SLA for Fintech partnerships.
  • Delivery of non-financial services i.e., financial education, networking etc.
  • Push onboarding onto digital platforms and utilization.
  • Drive excellent customer experience and ensure competitive solutions.
  • Establish and sustain a customer-centric business culture, leveraging on people and technology.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction as measured and monitored through customer feedback surveys
Leadership and People Management
  • Working with Ecobank Academy to design and implement Fintech Training.
  • Inspire, motivate, and guide team members.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration.
  • Set, monitor, provide and reinforce overall team performance feedback, including performance improvement.
Process, Control and Operational Performance
  • Ensure marketing strategies for the Fintech Desk are implemented.
  • Oversee the execution of fintech projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Ensure all fintech initiatives comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure there is a strong internal control system in place and monitor its adequacy and effectiveness.
  • Ensure operational risk is well managed. 
Strategic initiatives
  • Establish and manage partnerships with fintech companies, startups, and other stakeholders to foster innovation and collaboration.
  • Effective implementation and positioning of the Fintech desk.
  • Champion the Fintech program.
  • Lead strategic initiatives that will create business growth for the Fintech desk.
  • Lead the organization of the Annual Fintech Day Ceremony in Cameroon or similar events.
  • Contribution to the annual Fintech Awards Program of Ecobank Group.
JOB SCALE
  • Reporting to: DIRECTOR. PAYMENTS, CASH MANAGEMENT & CLIENT ACCESS.
Compétences / Exigences / Qualités
Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s/ Masters’ degree preferably in Business Administration, Information Technology related fields, or any related field of study that englobes Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, etc.
  • At least 05 years banking, or Fintech, or related experience. Sales role experience would be of added advantage.
  • Sound business and people development performance record.
  • Strong knowledge of credit processes & risk management.
  • Ability to structure transactions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of capacity development.
Skills
  • Strategic understanding of the corporate commercial banking space.
  • Understand how partnership programs work.
  • Ability to establish direction and drive execution.
  • Excellent at delivering and owning results.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
