The HSE Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures for the 400KV Substation project. He/She will ensure full compliance with international standards, client requirements, and local regulations, while fostering a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the project site.
- Develop and implement HSE plans, policies, and procedures aligned with project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with international HSE standards, local laws, and client contractual obligations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and client reporting.
- Lead HSE meetings and toolbox talks with site staff and contractors.
- Liaise with project management, client representatives, and local authorities on HSE matters.
- Monitor environmental impact and ensure proper waste management practices.
- Min Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Min 10 years of proven HSE experience, with at least 5 years in power transmission or substation projects (400KV preferre d).
- Strong knowledge of international HSE standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OHSAS).
- Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects in Africa or similar environments is an asset.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
- Fluency in English required; French is a strong advantage.
- Proactive and hands-on approach to HSE management.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to multicultural environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team leadership and training capabilities.
