RECRUITMENT OF 18 FOCAL POINTS IN BUI AND MEZAM DIVISION
Purpose/Objective
GPA is recruiting 18 Focal Points for a project titled First Line Local Assistance for SWIFT Humanitarian Response in Northwest (FLASH) Project, to facilitate the coordination, information sharing and rapid implementation of emergency assessments and responses in his/her area of responsibility. He/She will act as a relay between RRM partners, local authorities affected communities in Bui and Mezam Divisions of the Northwest Region of Cameroon.
NB: All Focal points should be based in the following communities:
Bamenda 1, Santa,Tubak,Kumbo,Oku,Mven,Nori,Miam,

Missions / Responsabilités / Activités
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates will be expected to:
  • Participate in Surveillance and early warning:
  • Identify and promptly report any incidents or population displacements of any magnitude.
  • Gather and share reliable information on imminent emergencies, threats, security or protection incidents
Support for rapid assessments:
  • Participate in the planning, organization and conduct of rapid multi-sector assessments (ERM or other tools).
  • Facilitate access to affected areas and support team logistics.
Response monitoring:
  • Monitor the implementation of RRM interventions in the area (distribution, WASH, shelters, etc.).
  • Report any difficulties and feedback from beneficiaries.
Reporting:
  • Produce summary reports of incidents, assessments and interventions in his/her zone.
  • Update shared monitoring tools (dashboards, maps, databases).

Compétences / Exigences / Qualités
Eligibility criteria:
  • Good knowledge of the local context, displacement dynamics and humanitarian actors.
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Ability to communicate, synthesize and work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in office automation tools (Word, Excel, messaging, etc.).
  • Should possess a working and well-maintained Android devices (mobile phones or tablet) for the purposes of capturing, registering and sharing information
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles and accountability, with emphasis Core Humanitarian Principles
  • Must be based in, and generally accepted and vouched by the area of jurisdiction
  • Must have good linkages and networks in the areas of jurisdiction
  • Must be keen in observation and be able to clearly report situations as they occur undiluted.
  • Have good conduct, friendly disposition and ability/willingness to work as an individual and with a team
  • Must be punctual, and aware of the criticality of timeliness in reporting
  • Be able to speak Pidgin, and preferably the local language.
