Who are we?
PaySika is an innovative fintech transforming financial services across Central Africa and beyond. A few years ago, the PaySika app was launched in Cameroon, enabling users for the first time to obtain a prepaid Visa bank card (Virtual physical) from home in just a few minutes. To deposit money, users are using local funding methods such as mobile money and bank accounts. Since then, PaySika has supported hundreds of thousands of people in their daily financial activities, including online and offline payments, peer-to-peer transfers, bill payments, and interoperable transfers, positioning the company as a pioneer in its segment. PaySika is backed by reputable investors, a strong signal of its ability to sustainably reshape the financial landscape in a region where only 25% of the population has access to traditional banking services.
- Design and develop new end-to-end features (frontend and backend), ensuring high performance and low latency for real-time transactions.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs with Flask, ensuring clean code and efficient queries.
- Create reusable, dynamic Angular components that are seamlessly integrated with UI/UX mock-ups.
- Test and validate developed features.
- Identify and resolve bugs across the entire technical stack.
- Work closely with the product and mobile teams to deliver user-friendly, reliable features tailored to local conditions.
- Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science with at least 3 years significant experience in full stack development (experience in fintech or similar projects is a plus).
- Front-end side: Good mastery of TypeScript and the Angular framework. A good understanding of API consumption and responsive design management (CSS/SASS).
- Back-end side: Proficiency in Python and the Flask framework. Good understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and SQL databases (PostgreSQL).
- Tools & methods: Proficiency in Git, understanding of Docker for local development, and knowledge of REST API principles.
- Soft Skills: Technical curiosity, rigor, punctuality, teamwork, and strong ability to communicate on the progress of your tasks.
- Plus: Experience with VISA card payment systems or fintech is a plus.
