Description
To accompany us in this light, we are in need of a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our efforts in selling Maviance’s payment services to corporate clients, specifically focusing on the Banks and Microfinance segments. The Sales Manager will report to the Sales Director and shall be responsible for managing a small team (one to two commercials) and driving the growth of contract signings in these key sectors. This role combines strategic thinking, hands-on sales execution, and leadership to scale the business effectively.
Missions / Responsibilities / Activities
  • Lead and manage a team of up to two commercial sales professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and support to help achieve team and individual targets.
  • Set clear objectives for the team, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance sales culture focused on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and action plans to drive new business opportunities and increase the adoption of our payment services in the Banks and Microfinance segments.
  • Identify and target key decision-makers at corporate and financial institutions, building long-term relationships and maximizing revenue potential.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client needs, proposing customized solutions that align with their business objectives and operational needs.
  • Lead the negotiation and closure of large, strategic deals with banks and microfinance institutions.
  • Manage the sales cycle from initial prospecting and lead generation to closing deals, ensuring timely and successful contract execution.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Projects, legal and finance teams to facilitate the drafting and signing of contracts.
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with senior stakeholders in Banks and Microfinance institutions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, ensuring exceptional service and addressing any issues that arise post-sale.
  • Collaborate with OPS and Marketing teams to ensure seamless implementation and post-sale support for clients.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the payments and financial services industry.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on sales performance, market conditions, and client feedback.
  • Continuously analyze the effectiveness of sales strategies and adjust approaches to improve success rates.
  • Own and achieve sales targets for the Banks and Microfinance segment, with a focus on scaling contract signings and growing revenue.
  • Track performance and results, ensuring that sales KPIs are met or exceeded.
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a proven track record of success in selling fintech/payment solutions or similar products/services to banks, microfinance institutions, and large corporates.
  • Experience leading and managing a sales team, including coaching and driving performance.
  • Strong understanding of corporate needs related to digital payment services
  • Strong understanding of the payment services and fintech landscape, especially within the banking and microfinance sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell complex, high-value solutions and manage long sales cycles.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage C-level executives and decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and driven to achieve ambitious sales targets.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a small team.
  • High level of strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution ability.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
